SOM is accepting applications for Bridge/Boost funding programs

The UNC School of Medicine is accepting applications for the first round of Bridge/Boost funding for fiscal year 2023. The application deadline is October 4, 2023.

The SOM Research Office is now accepting applications for the latest round of Bridge and To strenghten funding for this exercise.

Bridge the funding provides ongoing support to successful research projects that suffer from an interruption in funding. Researchers eligible for funding in this cycle must have had a concurrent renewal application for an R01 or equivalent grant reviewed in a recent study section of the NIH. The maximum amount provided by the Dean’s Office for Bridge Funding is $50,000. For more information on eligibility and application requirements for Bridge Funding, please refer to the RFA linked here.

To strenghten funding is designed to to strenghten the chances of funding a new NIH grant (or similar) that has been favorably reviewed but requires additional revisions and preliminary data in order to be funded in a resubmission. Up to $25,000 will be provided to successful applicants for laboratory supplies, animal expenses, basic services, and research staff salaries.
