CompuLab: CL-SOM-iMX8Plus is an NXP i.MX8M-Plus system-on-module in the CompuLab CL-SOM SO-DIMM form factor

Yokneam, Israel March 31, 2023 – CompuLab Presents CL-SOM-iMX8Plus – a SO-DIMM system-on-module built around the NXP i.MX8M-Plus system-on-chip family. High performance, powerful graphics and extensive connectivity make the CL-SOM-iMX8Plus a versatile solution for a wide range of applications such as industrial HMI, building control, image processing, IoT gateways and medical devices.

The CL-SOM-iMX8Plus was designed to bring out all the capabilities of the i.MX8M-Plus SoC using CompuLab’s unified CL-SOM SO-DIMM form factor. Peripheral interfaces include dual Gigabit Ethernet / RGMII, PCI Express, 2 USB3.0 ports, up to 4 UARTs, 2 CAN ports and 88 GPIOs. Display connectivity is supported with HDMI, LVDS, and MIPI-DSI interfaces. Additionally, CL-SOM-iMX8Plus provides pre-certified 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 interfaces.

CL-SOM-iMX8Plus is offered with a full industrial temperature range of -40C to 85C.

Software support

CL-SOM-iMX8Plus comes with complete BSP and ready-to-use images for Linux OS. The BSP CL-SOM-iMX8Plus includes Linux kernel 5.10.9, Yocto Project SDK, U-Boot bootloader and RTOS SDK.

Assessment and design assistance

To facilitate streamlined and rapid product development, CL-SOM-iMX8Plus is supported with the SB-iMX8Plus carrier board and EVAL-iMX8Plus evaluation kit.

The SB-iMX8Plus carrier board is optimized for easy evaluation of all CL-SOM-iMX8Plus functions. It also serves as a reference for customer motherboard design, providing proven building blocks for all key interfaces and peripherals. SB-iMX8Plus schematics, BOM and layout are available.

The EVAL-iMX8Plus evaluation kit is priced at $445, includes CL-SOM-iMX8Plus and SB-iMX8Plus hardware bundle, LCD panel, power supply, cables, and technical support contract.
