Job Responsibilities

  • Proposals: Leads the preparation of proposals, including outlines, timelines and content development. Contributes to the selection of consultants and makes team recommendations in specific areas of expertise.

  • Interviews: Contributes to client interview strategy, creates marketing materials for interviews and other presentations, and manages the interview process.

  • Marketing Collateral: Collaborates with Interiors Practice Leadership and the global marketing team to develop and maintain Interiors-specific materials that reflect and fulfill strategic marketing objectives.

  • Research: Conducts market, prospect and potential customer research.

  • Strategy: Develops a pursuit strategy in collaboration with others. Contribute to the development of the market strategy; provides insight and identifies competitive advantages for SOM.

  • Business Plans: Engages in the creation and implementation of business plans with a focus on interiors.

  • Salesforce and Pipeline Management: References and contributes to Pursuit and Project objects. Works with Pursuit Leads to ensure data accuracy and ensure that pursuits move through the sales funnel. Uses Salesforce to track business plan implementation.

  • Expertise: Strong working knowledge of A/E/I services offered by SOM, with a particular focus on interiors. Develops area(s) of expertise, either geographically or by functional market.

  • Training: Contributes to the training of Marketing Coordinators and Senior Marketing Coordinators.

  • Business Development: Represents the company to clients and professional organizations, attends functions when appropriate, and cultivates new business leads.

  • Participates in other duties and tasks as required.

Minimum qualifications

  • Four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • 5-8 years of marketing experience within the A/E/C industry. Experience working with an interiors company preferred.

  • Strong writing and graphic design skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ability to work with senior executives within a company.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and OpenAsset is a plus.

  • Must be passionate about architectural design to undertake marketing, business development and proposal preparation.

  • Ability to work and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
